Having trouble getting your workouts completed? Group training may be the solution you need to keep your workouts consistent. With a group you'll build camaraderie, friendship, accountability, and have fun.
I've had the opportunity of working with "a" particular group for about three years and they are just an awesome group of people. We have a lot of fun training together. If you think you can't have fun working out then you're sadly mistaken. I make the routines challenging, so when you come to see me be prepared to work! I like to vary the exercises to keep everyone stimulated, including myself. So everytime you come in, you won't know what to expect except that it's going to be a great workout! The friendships you'll develop are unlike those that are created in other social settings. You can become this almost secret society that nods or says hello whenever you see eachother out at the mall or events around Austin. you know you have a brother or sister who has struggled and overcome in the same setting as you. It's very satisfying.
The last great thing about group training is that the cost is less expensive than training one-on-one. The low cost alone should bring a smile to anyones face.

Feeling a little stressed from work lately? Did you know that exercise can help relieve stress? Below are some suggestions.
1.Find a gym on your route home from work.
2.Workout for 30 to 45 minutes.
3.Resistance train for 20 min. Total body type routine.
4.Aerobic activity for 25 min.
5.Exercise 5 days a week. Intensify the workouts when stress is overwhelming.
We all experience stress, some more intense than others but we all have that in common. What do you do to relieve your stress? Overeat? Drink alcoholic beverages? Smoke? Scream at people? All of the above??
Stress can lead to some serious health issues. If you're a stress eater you're headed towards obesity. If you're stress drinker you're headed towards liver disease or jail (if you drink and drive). If you're smoker, lung cancer. If you scream at people when you're stressed you may end up with a black eye or alone if you take it out on your spouse. If you exercise not only will you feel better, you'll look better and your spouse will want you to come home at the end of the day. ;-) It's win, win.

Then never ending quest for shedding body fat can be very confusing. I still stand by the old method of less calories in, more calories out. Monitor your food intake by maintaining a diary to track your progress. As tedious as this may be, it's necessary. You should be able to look back and see where, how and why you plateaued and what mistakes were made, then make adjustments as needed.
But guess what? It doesn't stop there...you have to perform some form aerobic activity or cardio as most call it, daily. That's right the fat has to burn up somehow and the skin has to shrink. I know, I know you don't like doing it and will make every excuse not to. But you are only kidding yourself. Cardio is based on what is convenient for you. If you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then swim...it's simple. Find a place to do something whether it be in the gym, on the trail or in the privacy of your own home but do something to make it burn. You'll need to keep hydrated and you'll need to be safe. I don't recommend running, walking in the dark with your ipod blaring into your ears...anyone can sneak up behind you...not safe!
"I don't have time Mike!" Whatever - MAKE TIME! Take something off of your plate to allow for 30 to 60 minutes of some form of aerobic activity daily. It doesn't matter what time of day you do it, just do it! You can even split the time up if you need to. We are all guilty of not making time for ourselves but in the end we only cheat...ourselves. What are you cheating yourself out of...great health...feeling good...stress relief...some diseases...increased confidence...I could go on and on.
If you are really not sure how to begin then give me a call and I'll show you. Now get out there and move around, the weather is beautiful!
